Skyscale is like a helicopter whereas the griffon is like a fighter jet. The griffon is arguably easier and faster to unlock. It also makes unlocking the skyscale easier. The griffon is just as useful as the skyscale but it takes more practice until you get good enough to actually make use of the griffon's utility effectively. Use the new, easy way to get the mount, which means you'll have to use the old, hard way if you want all bonus features. Or- Use the old, hard way to get the mount (this applies to everyone who already has it), meaning you can easily gain the bonus features the new way. The Skyscale is an absolutely fantastic mount. SO comfortable and easy to traverse any type of terrain. Its not a speed mount, its a traversing mount, able to clamber up any damned thing imaginable. Moving around with the Skyscale is extremely forgiving. I'm klutzy and the Skyscale is the ultimate anti-klutz mount! It is very much an optional mount, but is a pretty useful flying mount for many of us, combining much of what the springer and the griffon do in a package. It takes a while to get since it is often thought of as a legendary mount. For a new player it takes a lot longer due to materials required farming for. Skyscale takes way too much work to get and as a mount is almost totally worthless. And it's not even fun to use. Have better things to do with my time. Like finishing my legendary armor sets (which ARE worth the effort). If they make some major adjustments to the Skyscale that make it fun and useful then I will continue the journey. c6ufgRV. So i went back to Soto and i did some more events thinking that it just might take some time. After that i logged out. Today i cant even use the Skyscale in Soto. So i cant play anymore contend ther. The griffon is just as useful as the skyscale but it takes more practice until you get good enough to actually make use of the griffon's utility effectively. that argument is simply wrong. people choose to ignore all the scenery, you can easily choose to fly a metre or less above the ground and view it all. the fact is it still happens in GW2 with the raptor and jackal. if you are just looking to get from one place to the other then you are not gonna pay much attention to anything other than Unlock the ability for your skyscale to spit a fireball at aerial targets.
